Augusta Attorneys Elected to Board of Governors of State Bar of Georgia

Orlando, Florida – Sam G. Nicholson of Nicholson Revell Personal Injury Attorneys and Thomas R. Burnside III of the Burnside Law Firm LLP, both of Augusta, were re-elected to serve on the Board of Governors of the 50,000-member State Bar of Georgia. Both were installed June 8 during the organization’s Annual Meeting.

Nicholson will continue to serve in the Augusta Judicial Circuit, Post 1 seat on the board, representing Burke, Columbia and Richmond counties. He earned his law degree from the Cumberland Law School at Samford University and was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 1978. His law practice is focused on personal injury and consumer law, and he is a past president of the Augusta Bar Association.

Burnside will continue to serve in the Post 3 seat from the Augusta Circuit. He is a graduate of the Mercer University Walter F. George Law School and joined the State Bar in 1991. He focuses his law practice in the area of personal injury law. He previously served on the Executive Committee of the State Bar of Georgia and the State Disciplinary Review Board.

The Board of Governors is the 160-member policy-making authority of the State Bar, with representation from each of Georgia’s judicial circuits. The board holds regular meetings at least four times per year.
